Stop Gold Mining that Hurts CA Fish

Governor Schwarzenegger has another chance to demonstrate leadership in protecting our important trout and salmon resources from the harmful effects of instream “suction dredge” gold mining.

Recently SB 670 passed both the Assembly (63-11) and Senate (28-7) with significant bipartisan support.

SB 670 would impose a temporary moratorium on motorized suction gold dredge mining until an environmental impact report assessing the practice’s impacts is completed by the CA Department of Fish and Game (DFG), and new regulations are put in place. Now the bill moves to the Governor’s desk.

We need you to act now to ensure that the Governor signs SB 670 into law.

For anyone in California, get out the word and get this signed into law!
