Via the guys over at Fly Talk blog on field and stream comes this SHOCKING photo of what a fly rod looks like when it gets hit by lightning.
The first time I fished out west in a drift boat with a guide, he told me “If you feel your rod start to buzz, put it down” The skies were cloudy ,we were due for some thunderstorms that day and we did have to break out the rain jackets once. I never felt my rod buzz thankfully it doesn’t look like the above photo. I wonder what the warranty department said about that one being returned, most companies offer unconditional warranties now a days. Are acts of God covered?
